Traditional Indian Temple Art forms shown below are sculpted as deities, animals, flowers etc. inside and outside temples and are also drawn as murals on the walls of ancient temples in India. This art form was said to be inspired and created by the Divine and hence did not have the signature of the artist as the artist was/is but an instrument through whom the Divine flows. Each time a deity/mural was complete, the whole community was invited into the temple for a large celebration and the master artist ‘opens the eyes’ (paints) of the God/Goddess that has been created. It is said that all the other artists are then initiated into that lineage of divine artists.

Salutations again and again to the Goddess who abides in all beings in the Form of Devotion!
